I attend a federal academy and the name of the mess hall is Delano hall named after Amasa Delano. Apparently he lived 1763-1823. I have been unable to find him on any genealogy charts and it would be helpful if I knew his history. Perhaps if I can say that I am related to him, then the regiment will pronounce the name proper again. thank you. I'll be waiting.
