This is Baker researcher Jan Swart. I would like to be in contact with any descendants of the Ferrell sisters and brother to share research information of the following Quaker Ferrell family who came to Bedford County, Va abt 1762 from S.C Dominick William Ferrell who was born ABT 1730 in Athlone,West Meath,Ireland, and died 1780 in Bedford County, Va. He was the son of Morgan Ferrell. His wife’s name was Martha Cox. They were a large Quaker family who attended the South River Meeting in Lynchburg, Va. They had eight daughters and one son. Children of Dominick William Ferrell and Martha Cox are: i.William Ferrell Jr. was born 16 Jun 1755 in Bladen, North Carolina, and died 19 DEC 1827 in Fairfield Twp,Columbiana, Ohio. He married M-1 Judith Goode 27 Jan 1780 in Bedford,Virginia. She died 1785. M-2 -Prudence Halley 29 Jan 1787 in Rustburg,Campbell,Virginia, daughter of Francis Halley and Nancy Ann. She was born abt 1763 in Virginia, and died 1791/1792. He married-3 Mary Bangham 7 Jun1792 in Lynchburg,Campbell,Virginia. She was born 2 Jan 1772, and died 28 Feb 1845 in Fairfield Twp,Columbiana,Ohio. ii. Martha Ferrell. She married Thomas Delaney 12 Dec 1774. Her land on Stony Fork on Goose Creek in Bedford County VA was sold in 1794 because she had not been heard from since the City of Charleston was taken in 1780 during the Revolutionary War and was presumed dead. iii. Margaret Ferrell. She married Jonathan Frazier 15 Sep 1775. iv. Elizabeth Ferrell. She married David Pagan 18 May 1776. She went to Illinois with husband David Pagan, who was in the Illinois Reg under General George Rogers Clark during Rev.War. Elizabeth Ferrell died in Illinois by 1787. David came back to Bedford/Botetourt where he died in 1815. v. Mary Ferrell. She married Glover Baker (my direct ancestor-3rd great-grandparents) 19 May 1779. Glover Baker- He was born in 1755 in Prince Edward County, and died 28 February 1827 in Bedford County, Virginia. Mary Ferrell was born about 1760-61 in Bladen Camden, S.C. and died Bet. 1827 - 1830 in Bedford County, Virginia. vi. Hannah Ferrell. She married Robert Baker (Glover’s brother) 7 Apr 1781. vii. Nancy Ferrell. She married James Walker 10 Feb 1785 in Campbell,Virginia. viii. Rebecca Ferrell. She married William Halley 12 Dec 1785 in Campbell, Virginia, son of Francis Halley and Nancy Ann. He was born abt 1765 in Virginia. ix. Jane Ferrell. She married Jesse Hix 10 Oct 1787 in Lynchburg, Campbell,Virginia. Children were: William, Drury, Thomas, Martha, Elizabeth and Hannah. x. Catherine Ferrell. m Daniel Stockton 21 Dec 1771 but wasn’t disowned until 1790 from South River Quaker Meeting in Lynchburg, Campbell,Virginia. Their children were Newberry m to Bathsheba Brannon m 10 Jan 1801; Margaret m Joseph Falls on 26 May 1808; Martha (Patsy) m John Bowen 15 Sept 1808; Rachael, William d-1795; Hugh Stockton. Daniel Stockton died in Bedford County aft 1810 and before 1817, when Catherine is listed in a Chancery suit as a widow. Notify Administrator about this message?
