I now have through IFHF the baptismal records of Patt and Eliza's children which confirms my original birth dates but now I also have sponsors. youngest John born 1850 sponsors Pat Marnell and Eliza Cullen (Castletown teacher monitor)
Judy born 1846 sponsor William Dowling and Biddy Dowling
James born 1845 sponsors Joseph Delany and Catherine Dowling
Patt born 1842 sponsors Denis Delany and Ally Dowling
Mary Ann born 1840 sponsors Paul?Pat Hyland and Eliza Brophy (probably cousin not mother)
I am still trying to find what happened to Parents Patt and Eliza after adult children left for NZ, no records in NZ BDM and also I can find no trace of either John or Pat in NZ after 1870. Griffiths valuation records Pat and Eliza lived in Old Borris Castletown town in 1850 but John was born in Knockacollier down the road in 1850 when Griffiths records Andrew Brophy, Dennis Delany and Margaret Delany as leaseholders. Also at the time Roger and Richard Delany were living in Castletown. I would love to find out more about family connections and also what did Patrick do for an occupation and when/where were he and Eliza buried. Are there any relatives of either Brophy or Delany's in the vicinity today.
