Jean, John D. Delaney, the son of Francis is probably not the same person. Francis Delaney left a will naming his children. John D. Delaney left a will naming his children. These two can be traced almost by the year coming out of VA into what would become Greene County, TN. In Greene County Chancery Court ca 1828, a dispute over a tract of land traces the coming of Francis, James, and John into TN from VA. It lists the names of Francis' children and the grandchildren by son James and daughter Agness. It is 38 pages long. John not only leaves a will, he also deeds land to his sons. When John's son David dies intestate, a division of his property is taken care of in circuit court with all his siblings named and in the case of already deceased siblings, their children are to inherit. In 1820, John is 68 years old and in court records of Greene County buying and deeding property. I do not think he is the John of Wake or Franklin County or the one married to Mary Davis. One of the daughters of John, Anne, who married George Davis in Greene County on 6 March 1799 lived with her husband in Roane County, TN. Daughter Esther who married Isaac Castner and daughter Peggy who married Jacob Castner were in Roane County briefly on their way to TX. It would be interesting to know who the Daniel Delaney was that in 1826 signed the marriage for a Titus Delaney in Roane County. Do you have any more information about them?
