Looking for information on John J. Delaney, born Aug. 1828 in an unknown location in Ireland. He was the first child and only son born to Jeremiah (Jerry) Delaney and Anna Maxwell-Delaney, both born in Ireland. The couple also had a daughter born in Ireland, Elizabeth in about 1829. The family immigrated to America, sometime between 1830-1846 and the couple have three more daughters after their arrival. John is first found in this country in November of 1846 in Providence RI, marrying Mary Cunningham. The couple have a daughter, Mary, born in RI then move to Flushing, Queens Co., NY where they have a son, Jeremiah in 1849. By 1860 the family is living in Brooklyn and have several more children. By 1870 they are found living in Newark Valley, Tioga Co., NY where John and Mary lived out the rest of their lives. John died in 1910.
