Daniel was actually Daniel Jr. His father was known as Daniel, the younger. His ggrandfather is buried in a crypt at St. Anne's Anglican (now episcopal) Church, which happens to be the exact center of Annapolis, MD. He was a lawyer, as were the other Daniels.
Your daniel was a loyalist who fled the country at the breakout of war with England. He lived on Downing Street in westminister, London. He was a close friend of the Royal Family and his daughter was lady-in-waiting to the Queen. His wife died in Brighton and Daniel died in London. He returned once to Qamerica after the war, visiting a cousin Dr. Benjamin Dulaney, Esq. living at 108 Duke St., Alexandria. While here, he "rode to hounds" with General Washington. I have a copy of his coat-of-arms issued by the British Armourer. It is not the one with three fish, if you want it, E-mail me and I will send it.There is a book published by Aubry Land in 1952 about Daniel's branch of the family. He arrived here in April, 1703.
