Sorry, I'm not as familiar with all the townland areas as I should be to answer your post.
I have two John Delaneys in the family.
One was living with wife Mary on East
33rd street in NYC in 1920. His children
were Mary and Martin. He emmigrated to
the USA in about 1890 and married Mary here.
I have no other info on this man yet other than he worked for the City. I have sent for his naturalization papers based on the census form data.
His nephew was also a John (Joseph) Delaney, born 1891 in Moyne, near Thurles, Tipperary.
His parents were Michael Delaney, a laboroer, and Ellen (Eileen?) Brennan. John J. emmigrated to NYC on the Baltic in Fall of 1913 and worked in NYC on the railroad as a security guard. He later met and married Mary Doherty (b 1893, Limerick City, Ireland) and worked in NJ as a chaffeur until his death in 1921.
Apparently there are no Delaneys still living in the Moyne/Thurles area, although an Irish correspondent indicates that when he checked the area for me some of the very old men seemed to remember the family and that the last of them had left or died in the 1940s.
