I am trying to find any information on the Dewlaney family in Carroll or Madison county Tn. The 1850 census lists wife Ruthy,children John,Emily,Jordan,Nancy,Sarah,Thomas,Andrew and Ruthy. Also listed is Sarah aged 75. Probably his mother. I was told that the "w" in our name was inserted by mistake. It had to be before 1840 as Dewlaney was used on that census.
