I have a Francis DeLancey born 17 Aug 1724 in Paris, France, whose first wife was Maria Potera. It is alleged that he came to America with Gen. Lafayette. Do you have anything more on Francis? Also, he had a second wife (Catharina Gehrling) and their son, George (b. 1793), is my ancestor. George then married a Hannah Rice. If Phillip was born before 1774, he may have been born in France since there is a 13-year span between children which would include the period of the Revolutionary War (1775-1783). Francis settled in the Kistler, Cumberland Co. (later Perry Co.) area of PA.
Does any of this sound familiar?
