Linda -- Just found your message from 2000 while searching for something else. Do you still need help?
A few years ago I traced one branch of the Timpson family that lived in Appleton Manor, England but were originally from NY. They had married into the Livingston family and due to their wealth and social position in England were listed in Burke's Landed Gentry. I thought tho that the daughter of James (must have been a natural child or from an undocumented first marriage) name was Julia.
