Hi Joe,
My name is Marsha and I am also a Phillip DeLancey descendant. Yes, her name was Maria Potera.

Phillip and Margaret Starr are my 5th great-grandparents. I have acquired a great deal, in fact most, of my information from Bob Saunders. He was such a tremendous help.

I don't know how much information you have, but Bob is worth is weight in gold, I can tell you that.

There isn't much known about Maria Potera, Phillip's mother. It would be nice if something more was found someday though.

Take care,
Marsha

I am only 9 years late, but Phillip and Margaret (Starr) DeLancey are 4g grandparents of mine. I don't have anything on Phillip deserting the family, but I do have a last name for his mother, Maria. I have her last name as Potera. I can't quote you the source right now.
