I am currently researching the Lancey Family that originated in Hythe,Kent in England.William and James Lancey
came to Ireland cicra 1829 and resided in Newtownlimavady(now Limavady)where they married two Conn sisters from
Aghadowey.William became a major in the Royal Engineers.Three of his children emigrated to USA in the latter part of the 19th century; James to New York,Thomas to
Danville and Robert Conn Lancey to to West Kensington.Mary, the youngest member of the family died in Belfast in 1934 and was buried in the family vault in Limavady. She mentioned a nephew Darragh in her will who
was a son of one of three brothers mentioned above.I am very
keen to make contact with any descendants of this family and would be grateful for any help to this end. Many thanks
Ian Deighan
