Do you need to know how many leap years occured in that 89 + year span ? Regards, John Lancy Marblehead, MA PS: Norna, I am interest in your info on Joseph GARRETT of Scituate in the Narragansett Fight. I believe I have a connection to Willam Lancey & Anna Wiatt. NARRAGANSETT ATTACK - GRANTEES AND CLAIMANTS On December 9, 1675 the combined group of Massachusetts Bay and Plymouth Colony forces met on Dedham Plain where they were formally turned over to General Josias Winslow who promised the troops that if they "played the man, took the fort and drove the enemy out of the Narragansett Country, which was their great seat, they should each receive a gratuity of land besides their wages." As a result of this promise beginning in 1685 and continuing until 1733, lands were granted founding what would later be the towns of: Buxton, ME; Westminster, MA; Amherst, NH and Greenwich, MA. The grantees ended up being, in may cases, the heirs of the soldiers who fought in 1675. Perhaps this is why William & Anna Lancey moved from Marblehead, MA if Joseph GARRETT was Anna father, they would have a claim. That's why I send the above info, to get your attention. But, hey, I figured you didn't have it anyway. I have more as well if you have any interest.
