Greetings Andrew:
I am a descendant of Stephen, Oliver, and James DeLancey of New York. Stephen and his progeny were major landholders in NYC prior to the British defeat in the Revolutionary War, when the family departed for Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia in the 1780s. There is a gap in my knowledge at this point, but the DeLancey's eventually merged with the Harris family until my great grandfather, DeLancey Pike Harris (b.1867, Annapolis County, N.S.) returned to NYC (not Brooklyn) in the 1890s. I am just beginning my genealogical search, so I can't tell you any more at this time.
