I am afraid I do not have much Delamater family information. Mary Delamater married Hiram Miracle (Mericle/Markel)and Lorinda Delamater Joseph Miracle who was the brother of Hiram. At his death, the Oshkosh Northwestern Newspaper datedd May 17k 1890 stated that Hiram died at the age of 81. He married on Dec 2, 1829 Mary Deloamater, born 18 Jan 1813, Montgomery or Genesee Co., NY, died 17 Sept 1886, buried Brooks cemetery, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Hiram's youth was spent on the Canadian frontier and he had little formal schooling. His marriage to Mary was performed by Edward Boswell, missionary, at London, Ontario, and appears in the Anglican Parish records of St. Paul's church. These records indicate her surname to be Dilamater and Isaac Dilamater gave her in marriage. Since neither Mary or Isaac could read or write, they marked an X and the minister spelled the name as it sounded. Hiram and Mary migrated from London to Vinland, Winnebago Co., WI on 19 Sep 1859. The 1880 WI census indicates that both of Mary's parents were born in NY state.
I haven't been able to nail down the parents of Mary and Lorinda. We surmise that Isaac is their father since he signed Mary's marriage certificate. I have not worked on my Delamater line for several years but have notes that a James Delamater appeared in the 1830 NY Deruyter census with sons George and Isaac. I just am not certain who the girls father is at this time. I have the birth of Isaac as 5-19-1793 in Hillsdale, NY. Our guess is that Isaac is the father and James is his father. You probably have better information than I do.
