Here is some information I have on the Delahunts from Moncton, New Brunswick. Richard Delahunt, My great great grandfather came to New Brunswick sometime between 1800 and 1832. I have been told that he came from Emyvale, County Monaghan but I am not sure this is true as I have not been able to trace any Delahunts in that area.

Richard had 6 children Thomas, Mary, James, William. John and Elizabeth. William married Mary Houlahan, on December 25, 1851, from the Sackville area. The family lived most of their lives in that area. Recently I located a tomb stone in Amherst Nova Scotia of Williams oldest son, who was also named William, and his wife Julia Savage. I hope to visit the library at Mount Allison University in Sackville in the near future. Their archives has copies of local newspapers and I hope to find the obituaries which hopefully will contain some information on the family.

A number of my relatives live in the Boston area. William Delahunt who I believe is presently a Senator from Ma. is the grandson of my grandfather's brother.

Would like to hear from you if you think there is a connection to the family you are looking for.
