John J. Delahanty was born 1848 in NY. Married Ellen Lonergan from Ireland and settled in Flushing NY. Daughter, Margaret S. Delahanty born in 1875 in Flushing married John J. Darraugh and settled in Greenpoint, NY.

John probably had brother Patrick. Also, Lillie Delahunty (b. 1886; d 1955); Margaret McConnel (b.1865; d.1955) and Ellen Delahunty (d. 1933)

These names are all on deed to Mt. St. Mary's Cemetary dating back to 1866.

Family went back and forth between DelahUnty and DelahAnty spelling of name.
