Hello again, Sandra

I attended a cemetery Mass in Ferryland, the community just outside of Calvert, last night, and found the burial place of an Esther Delahunty and her husband, Patrick Delahunty. Esther died May 8, 1897 (aged 76 years) and Patrick died Oct. 12, 1883 (aged 69 years). The maiden name of Esther was not listed on the headstone.

I am not sure of their connection with my family, as I had never come across their names prior to our correspondance. However, I am sure there must be a connection as Delahunty is not a common last name here, and the communities of Calvert, Cape Broyle, and Ferryland are very close together.

I have contacted a cousin of mine who has done some extensive work on our family history, and I am awaiting his reply. Esther would not be the daughter of Mary and Joseph Delahunty, but we will find the connection!

Have you ever been to Newfoundland? I would like to know your information on Esther Delahunty so that I can find some links with my research. I hope all is well with you, and I look forward to keeping in touch with you!
