Hi Lawrence -- My mother's family is from Georgia, including Vidalia. Talking with her today, she asked me did I know that a man named Louis Dekle came to her father’s funeral and "looked so much like Daddy that we all did a double take." She said this man, Louie Dekle, was married to a woman named Marion and his mother was Mattie. His sister was named Beatrice, a school teacher. Marion was either a school teacher or a librarian. They had no children. She thought that he came from somewhere near Mariana (Marianna?) Georgia. His cousin, my grandfather who he looked so much like, was Arlee Devant Joiner, b. 16 Nov. 1898 in Jackson Co. Fla. Arlee's father was Stokes Homer Joiner, b. 22 June 1872 in Cuthbert GA. Arlee's mother was Kitty Eulalia Murdock, b. 1871 in Georgia (?). Both Kitty and Stokes Homer are buried at Collins Church, in Malone, Fla. This information is according to family memory. My mother wasn't sure whether Louie would have been a cousin on the Joiner or Murdock side, but figured probably the Murdocks. I'd love to know more about this side of my family. Hope these names are familiar to your mom! Thanks, Kristen Hannum
