In Reply to: JOHN W. DEIBLER B. 1846 NORTHUMBERLAND CO., PA by Jonathan Wert of 115

Dear John, I have John W. as the son of George and Hannah (Deibler) Deibler, as you asked. "John W. was born on a farm in Mifflin township, Dec. 25, 1846. Married to Eliza A. Hoy, born in Upper Paxton township. They had no children. She died in 1872. His second wife, whom he married in 1873, was Miss Katie Wert, born in Northumberland county, Pa. daughter of Michael Wert, an extensive mill owner in that county. They had one son, Harry C. born in 1874, and educated in the common schools of Mifflin township and in Berrysburg Academy. Harry had a great natural musical talent, and he did composing and writing. He was an agent for several manufacturing firms in the State. John W. was a Republican , a school director for three years and held the office of constable and other positions of responsibility in the township. He had business ability and was respected for his personal worth. He was a member of the Reformed church."

He died before 1934 and was the proprietor of the Deibler house in Berrysburg. His father, George, was the son of John Deibler and Catherine Miller. He had at least one sister, Catherine, b. 12/28/1834, married to Jacob Hartman. His mother, Hannah, was the daughter of Johannes Deibler and Maria Magdalena Nawinger.
