Thank you for your generous offer, Kay. I would certainly like to have a copy. This Thomas A.M. DeG. was my half 3C4R. I have the following (scant) information in my database, for those who may be interested:
Name:Thomas A. M. deGraffenried
Birth: bef 1842
Death: Entered army at 16; killed at Atlanta, GA, in Civil War.
Father: Thomas deGraffenried (1810-1842)
Mother: Sarah Guthrie (ca 1826-)
Misc. Notes [Last Modified: 25 Jul 2004]
Database: 1850 United States Federal Census

Name:Degraffenried, Thomas A. M.
Year:1850
County:Giles
Township: 9Th District
State:Tennessee
Page: 59
[Melinda Bailey searched out Sarah's given name in Jan 2002 with info I gave her. Sarah was 24 in the 1850 Giles Co. TN census with 2nd husband, Larkin Cardin, and their son, John K. Cardin and her son from the earlier marriage, Thomas A.M. DeGraffenried.]
I didn't know this young man was a "Jr." -- I didn't have his father's full name! If you, or anyone, can provide the missing dates (above) or add to my information, I'd certainly appreciate it. I will try to contact you directly, Kay; perhaps you would be willing to give me more information about Sarah (her parents, etc.). Or perhaps you would be willing to expand on this topic here on the DeGraffenreid Forum.
I haven't accomplished much with this line, being somewhat "put off" with contradictory statements, e.g.:
"Of the children of Abraham Maury DeGraffenried, Thomas married a Miss Guthrie; of Columbus, Miss., and died in 1842, leaving a widow and one son, Thomas, who entered the army at sixteen years of age, and was killed at Atlanta, Ga." (Col. James E. Saunders, 1899, Early Settlers of Alabama.)
