I'm in Kansas, near Lawrence; in fact my husband and I are retired from KU (I'm known by my maiden name -- DeG.). We, you and I, have, or did have -- Judy and I haven't corresponded for a long time -- another cousin-in-common in Altus, OK: Judy (Henderson) Wille.
I suppose you're aware of all the "literature" about John Henry Selman, e.g.
Leon C. Metz, John Selman (New York: Hastings House, 1966; 2d ed., Norman: University of Oklahoma Press, 1980) and
C. L. Sonnichsen, Pass of the North: Four Centuries on the Rio Grande (2 vols., El Paso: Texas Western Press, 1968, 1980).
Let's correspond directly, if you want to do so. That is, if I survive the Olympics! I notice it's 12:25 a.m. I'm not into beach volley ball, so I think I'm call it a (long) day.
Cheers!
Jo Anne DeG.
