I have a family genealogy for my husband's side. An aunt of his named Irma De Graff, made this decades ago. She made the trip to Canada and found what she could although mentions there was much she couldn't translate and some records were in the process of being microfilmed, and were unavailable. I am in the process of putting this into Ancestry.com. It sounds like you are talking about the same family- maybe different members... but these stayed in South Bend. I've got a Frank Ralph De Graff 14 Oct 1835, Burlington VT. Father is John Baptiste Descarafes born 1794. His father is same name b. 1762 in Paris and his father also same name in Paris. She spells this one "DeCaraffe" no birth date on this one. So this Frank De Graff was the one that came and stayed in South Bend, IN.

Can you help me find the tie-in? Do you have any more of the history in France?

Does anyone else know where this fits into all these others? I'm overwhelmed- this is the first time I've seen this site.
