Hello Jim: I've recovered enough to start looking at this information and am wondering how best to handle it. The old handwritten notebook originally referred to was intended for a rather distant relative of mine; I found her, but she wasn't interested. A first cousin of hers was, however, and I passed the notebook on to him after copying the notations into my computer exactly as written but with a cautionary comment about further research. I personally have not gone into that research, for I'm trying to close all of my genealogy project and have it ready for the next generation to pick up. However, this family should be interesting to trace, so I may get into it when the weather cools down. If you have Moses DeGraff (b. 1658)then you and I are definitely in the same line, with some impressive lineage going back many centuries. Moses Le Comte (Count)married Hester Delamater (dau. of Claude Le Maistre and Hester DuBois). That is a proven fact. The DeGraff line apparently goes back to Louis IX of France--reigned 1226-1270--and along the way founded the house of Bourbon. The DuBois line apparently leads back thru a host of royalty. I am always ready to share real information in silent thanks to the many whose work and writings have helped me over many years. My problem here is that I don't want to send out incorrect data, and there is a definite glitch in those old notes where dates don't mesh. Here's an idea. Without trying to do the whole thing at once, why don't I list the five or six generations leading to Moses as they were in the notebook? If you have research time perhaps you will be able to smooth that rough spot, the "glitch". At the least, it would indicate a track to follow. Let me know. It won't take long to type that much.
