Degan name basic info wanted.

I was just looking for some basic info on the name Degan. I was told that side of my family came from Norway but I am finding out that it is probable and Irish name. I have also seen very few but a couple sites claiming it is an Italian name. I was also wondering what the name means if anything. are there any good web sites out there that have a litle history on this. Thanks
