Looking for parents or siblings of Capt. James H. Degan [rhymes with "began"]. Born ca. 1827-1832 in NY. Died August 4, 1904 in Denton County, TX.

Married Lucy A. Guthrie in Arkansas.
They moved to Texas in the 1850s and are both buried in IOOF Cemetery, Denton, TX.

According to the census, his parents were born in Ireland.
