I am searching for a link between John Dees (1763(SC)-1838(GA)) and his oldest son Matthew M. Dees (1794-1873). Several books indicate that John and Matthew were father and son, but no original documentation is cited. John Dees had patriotic service in the Revolutionary War in South Carolina, before moving to Georgia where he died in Lowndes County. DAR members have joined through his sons Leonard and Thomas, but not through Matthew. I have found references to an "old John Dees Family Bible" and "John M. Dees family record." I want to locate an original record to document the Matthew M. Dees line in the DAR. Any help is appreciated.
