My understanding is that Emanuel Dees(b. 1675 d.1722) of James City and Isle of Wight was the first Emanuel here. I understand his father was probably John Dee. Emanuel Dees b. abt 1700-1710 in Isle of Wight Co.,Va.
He died in Johnston Co., NC The origin was Scotland and the River Dee.
