I got some information today from Linda Talkington (thanks so much) that my grandfather, James Obie Deen, was born in Texas and his father was born in Mississippi. I have searched several Mississippi postings and have seen several William Deen names. My father's name was Obie William Deen so it might be possible that there is a connection there.
James Obie Deen's mother was born in Georgia.
I met a nurse here in New Mexico whose grandfather, Andrew Edward Deen, came from the same area of Texas that my grandfather came from. She says that my features are the same as grandfathers family.
Hopefully we can find out that we are related and find several more distant relatives.
