My father was Frank Alvin Deen, Sr. He was born in Shreveport, LA in 1917, and died in Shreveport in 1987. His second wife was Frances Wynn Deen, who he met while she was a patient at the Old Pines Sanitarium for the treatment of TB. He later married my mother, Helen Sims Deen. Besides myself, there was one other child born, James Michael Deen, now living in North Carolina. My father had three brothers and three sisters, Doris Deen Farmer Partain, (now deceased), Dorothy Mae Deen (still living in Shreveport), James Walter Deen (still living in Shreveport), Jesse Bickham Deen (deceased), Edward William Deen (still living in Shreveport), and Eddie Frances Deen Potter (still living in California. Curtis Rayford Deen is my first cousin (hey Curtis, send me an email). One additional interesting fact is that each of my father's siblings were twins (not identical); Doris and Dorothy, James and Jesse, Edward and Eddie Frances. My dad was the only single birth. My grandfather, Edward Deen, came from Rapides Parish, Louisiana, where some of the Deen decendents still live.
I would appreciate any help anyone could give me in locating my half brother from my father's first marriage. His name was Walter Howard Deen, and was born in the Houston, TX area. His mother was Ruth Gladney. He was born around 1940. I have never met him, but would like to.
