Denise Jonquet - I have been in contact with several Deen researchers over the past 25 years and no one ever has the same children for Jacob Clay Deen and Sara Lane. You are as close as anyone, I have listings from others showing from 7 to 10 children. I have been able to "prove" only 6. I agree with you on the 5 that you listed. I do have a slight difference in a couple of names. I show Sarah Adeline instead of Sarah Areline. She mar Ninian Edwards Easley.
I show Susan Angline instead of Susan Ardine, I lean toward your Ardine here as Ardine is a common name in the Deen and Lewis families of Walpole, Hamilton Co., IL.Susan mar Josephus "Seif" Braden
Nancy Ann Deen who Mar Thos Russell is the ancestor of the Mandrell Sisters.
One important dau that you do not have is my
gr grandmother Lucinda Emiline Deen b 8 Aug 1831 Mar Moury Vickers Lewis 10 Feb 1848 d 10 Jan 1915 bur Rector Cem., Walpole, Hamilton Co., IL. dau of Moury Vickers Lewis and Lucinda Emiline Deen was Naomi Moury Lewis who mar Millage Miller Gray. Their dau Anna Lucinda Gray (named for her grandmother Lucinda Deen) mar Wade W. Ellis and they are my father and mother.
I was born 9/19/1933 at Walpole, Hamilton Co., IL.
I have a very large amount of info on the Deen family, dates, places, etc. I have the complete work of Louie Priscilla Gray Johnson, my aunt; Mary Cotter dau of my mothers oldest sister and Dr. Jesse Deen. All worked on the family for years and had a mountain of info that I have extended and upgraded. I share/exchange anything I have.
Rev. Jacob Deen is listed as Deen when he first shows up a Ft. Massac in 1810. Some researchers have said he was born in England but the census lists VA. I have no prior info on him and did not know he had a brother William. He did have a son William.
I believe the correct name of Susannah is Hatty not Hattey as I have it on the computer. No info on parents.
