Hi Dorothy, Perhaps this little bit of information may be of help to you. Jacob Deem b. 1782, m. 4 August 1815 to Mary Lazure/Lazier. This family is listed in the 1850 Ritchie County Census, 1860 Census and 1870 Census. Patrick was married twice. Siblings include are: Elizabeth Deem; Jacob Deem m. Amanda Cunningham 2. Mary Elizabeth Barr Smith; Abraham Deem. Isaac, Catherine, William, Andrew, Nancy, Mary L. 2nd marriage to Permelia L. Lazier/Lazure, m.20 September 1863 Wirt County Marriage Records, Children: Patrick, Abraham, Nephthalim. Washington, John James, Rachel and Thomas. I have two siblings names Lazier living with them. Namely Martha ca b1859 and Jasper N. Lazier cab.1862. Permelia L. Lazier/Lazure's mothers name was Mary Buckhanon, w/o William. Jacob Deem s/o Adam Deem Sr. and Catherine Fout/Fought. The Lazure/Lazier Family intermarries with the Deem Family quite often. Must have been neighbors.
