Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

James D. Deem was my 2nd Great Grandfather. He was the son of Jacob Nepthalem, born in West Virginia and fought for the Confederate Army in Baxter Smith's cavalry. He was taken prisoner at the Batle of Kennesaw Mountain and sent to Camp Douglas in Illinois. I don't show that he had a brother named John. He did have a (older) brother Jeremiah who fought for the Union Army and was caputred and died in Andersonville Prison in Georgia on 9/18/1864. I have more information about both of their enlistments and companies if you are interested.
