I'm looking for a family group for Dorcas Deem, who married Amos Perrin, son of Robert B. and Judith Snyder Perrin of Wirt County, WVa. They were married 31 January, 1867.
Amos Perrin served in the 11th WVA Infantry, Co. E., and served with several other Deem family members: Abram,18; George W., 19; Jacob, 19; John, 21; John M., 27; Michael, 25; Peter, 23,...all privates; and David Deem, 31, Capt. of the Company. All ages were as of enlistment in mid 1862. Was Dorcas Deem the widow of George W. Deem, who was MIA at the Battle of Cedar Creek? Or, was she the sister of one of the above?
I'm not too familiar with Wirt County geography....the Perrin's lived in the Clay district...was this in the northern portion that borders Wood and Ritchie, in the Freeport/Greencastle neighborhood? Amos and Dorcas Deem Perrin lived in Ritchie County, Union District, in 1900.
