My great great grandfather was Joseph DEELEY born in 1844 at Wednesbury Staffs. Parents were Arthur and Eleanor, nee ROBERTS. Joseph married Midiam Stanley LLOYD in 1865 at Moxley parish church Staffs near Wednesbury. Joseph was a worker in the Iron Foundry business, variously described as Iron Shingler, Roller and Foundryman. His family lived at Pelsall in Staffs at the 1881 census but Midiam and the children were living at St.Georges Street, Smethwick near Birmingham by the time of the 1891 census;this was still the case at the 1901 census.
Joseph's parents were married at West Bromwich in 1841. By the time of the 1881 census Joseph's father, Arthur was widowed and was living at School Street, Wednesbury.
I have a probable christening for Arthur from the IGI;1816 at St.Peters Collegiate, Wolverhampton, parents James and Elizabeth.
There is also a marriage between James DEELEY and Elizabeth COTTERILL which is a likley connection.
I would be interested to hear if there is a common link with any other researchers.
