Deegan Family Genealogy Forum
Since the time of my posting I have conducted an extensive research into my family roots. It turns out that my great-grandfather's name was John H. Deegan who in 1970 purchased land in Titusville, PA and in 1880 moved to Oil City, Pa where he stayed until he died in 1917. He had three girls, Josephine, Anna and Mary and three boys, John, James and Frank (my grandfather).
John H. Deegan came from Ireland I suspect sometime about 1852-56 put have not been able to confirm. Stories passed down in my family told of John from Wexford County and having 3 brothers who he never saw or had contact with when he left home (where ever that maybe and which I believe he left in 1870). I did find an interesting census from 1860 from Palo Alto, PA of an H. Deegan who had 7 children -- three of which are boys.
I'd love to compare notes with your parents! Does any of this ring a bell?
