Is anyone related to Ruben H. Dedrick. He was a Bugler ( blew a bugle) in the civil war. He was with Company East 6th Kansas Cavalry and imprisoned in Tyler? Texas by the southern army. I have a homemade violin he made of an orange crate wood and it is very well done. And in great condition Has scroll style peghead and a tailpiece that has a unique pigs snout carved into it. Violin is missing the Bow. He wrote on the back of the fiddle in black ink, 1863 "Manufactured by Ruben H. Dedrick, Co. E. 6th Kansas Cavalry, Sylor (Tyler?) Texas, while in prison. If you are a for sure relative and want this relic, contact me. This was given to me by my grandmother and I don't know how she acquired it. I am not related to the Dedricks. I live in Springfield, Missouri. Thanks.
