Alice and Michael,
My grandfather was Percy deCourcy, William was his father. I noticed on the birth certificates of his children that he gave eight different birthplaces, one was Brandon, VT. I went there years ago, found nothing, but information in the 1840 census. A family named Corse (Thomas, father, Celia, mother) was listed, non English speaking, with a William b. on his birthdate. I think that the family may be French-Canadian, and Corse would be pronounced cor sy.
Any help would be appreciated
