I was going through the DeCoste surname at genforum.genealogy.com/decoste and came across your message you had posted this response to a Samuel DeCoste. have been trying to find out about my ancestry of DeCoste. My paternal grandmother was full Acadian French, however she died in/around 1928. She had married Daniel Ryan around 1900 (my paternal grandfather). Her first name started with an E. I would be her granddaughter. Unfortunately, there's no one left alive on the Ryan side of the family who remembers much about the DeCoste family. I do believe she was born in Arichat, Cape Breton. She had 7 children (one who died shortly after birth named Joseph). The remaining siblings are named Freda, Irene, Doris, Patrick and Thomas (all deceased). The one remaining brother is Donald who is still alive, but was too young to remember much about his mother. As you were aware of a family reunion in 2001, would you have further information on this history. Or would you be able to point me in a direction to where I would find more information. All help would be much appreciated. Thank you. Notify Administrator about this message?
