Sharon,
I did a little checking for you. You mention having the 1870 and 1880 census but no mention of others so I am copying the 1850, 1860 for you.
1850 BRIDGEWATER, SUSQUEHANNA, PA
DECKER
Jacob, age 40 farmer born PA (all members of family shown born PA but this was done with ditto marks so may not be accurate as later census shows many born NY)
Sarah A. age 40 born PA
Asa age 16 born PA
Mary age 15 born PA
Jane age 8 born PA
George age 5 born PA
Leslie age 2 born PA
1860 HARFORD, SUSQUEHANNA, PA
DECKER
Jacob M. 51, farmer born NY
Sara A. 51, born NY
Eliza J. 18 born NY
George 15, born NY
Leslie L. 12, born PA
Francis A. 10, born PA
Asa H. 26 born NY
Mary F. 23, born NY
Charles M. 6, born PA
Emma E. 3, born PA
**** so it looks like Asa and family were living with his parents in 1860. You asked about relationship between Jacob and Hezekia. I think Hezekia is most likely Asa (middle initial H.) and therfore Jacob is his father.
Emma is listed in 1870 as a domestic servant but that does not mean she worked as that in the household. She may have worked for other families. My guess would be that she is your Emma living with her parents.
From the 1880 census you mentioned I found that living with the family was James Smith father-in-law, retired engineer. I then searched for the Smith family in 1850 and found them,
1850 MONTROSE, SUSQUEHANN, PA
SMITH
James T. age 39 engineer born NY
Sarah age 36 born NY
Mary Francis age 12, born NY
Henrietta age 13, born NY
Maria age 10 born NY
Ann Elizabeth age 8 born NY
Josephine age 7 born NY
Isaac age 8/12 born NY
Hannah age 82, born NY
** from this, if the places of birth are correct you can tell then they would have moved to PA in the previous year as Isaac was born NY. Also I would assume that Hannah is James Smith's mother so another generation back which is great.
I also tried finding Asa's children Charles, George and Sarah in 1870 but no luck. I also have not found James Smith so perhaps they are all together?? You mention Charles not listed in 1880 either. Do you know that he was still alive, perhaps he died young??
