Hi Connie,
I checked out your Rootsweb site.I was very happy to see that you don't have Daniel Decker who married Mary Ann Yoakam as the son of Luke Decker and Sarah Harness.I'm descended from Luke & Sarah. They had 5 sons: Isaac, married to Barbary Kuykendall, John, married to Diana H. Decker Reilly, Daniel, married to Polly White, Hiram, married to Elizabeth Kuykendall, and Asa, married to Catherine Decker.I think some of the confusion is caused by the Knox County, OH and the Knox County, IN.
Yours is the only one with this Daniel's parents as Hendrick Decker and Margery Westbrook.I wondered how Daniel, born in 1783 - Sussex County, NJ, ended up marrying in VA if he was Luke's son, when the rest of Luke's sons all married in Knox County, IN. where they were raised.Where did the other people on Rootsweb get their info, from each other? There is so much info on the internet that is wrong & people should really check their sources. I've found that even published material can be wrong.
