My name is Vince DeCastro and as far as I can go back...originally the name DeCastro was Castro and is of Spanish origin. When our ancestors migrated from Spain to Portugal...they added the 'De' to blend with the common Portuguese last names. So DeCastro is of Portuguese background. I have traced the name back four generations and that's all I have found out. Either way, I hope this helps.
