Does anyone know about the Cherokee/DeBerry link in TN ??

Hi my name is Clint DeBerry,
My direct ancestors come from Murfessboro and McMinnville, TN (by direct I mean within the last 150 years, I don't know beyond that)

My grandmother told me that her GG was a full-blooded Cherokee who was on the 'Trail of Tears'.

She only met her GG when she was a young child - so,...I don't know.

Thanks in advance for any information which can enlighten me on this subject.
