Thanks I will check this out, it does seem to be the same family. As far as the Ligons, my Ford cousins and I have been trying to find a connection to Ligons for years. They are in Amelia Co. VA at the same time my Fords were, and later Spartanburg SC, they are neighbors, witness deeds, wills, etc. of each other but so far have not found marriages amongst these families. There is a Helen Smith who is researching this line of Ligons, I no longer have her email address, but you may find her on Ligon and/or Ford forums. Wit: William Ford [see first Sptbg Co deed], Peter Farley and George Mageor. 1796- 5 Feb Sptbg Co DB E; pp 163-165; Wm Ford to Robert Ligon (late of Amelia Co, VA); (a) 400 ac on E side Tygar River; where William Ford lives; and (b) 50 ac adjoining W side of (a) .
