In Rowan County, NC between 1778 and 1821, there are 3 different Samuels. The first Samuel, who had land, paid taxes in 1778, married Elizabeth Farmer in 1787. He died before 1803 because she remarried in 1803 to William Weaver, had a son Amos Weaver. The second Samuel married Susannah Hauser in 1814 Rowan Co., but died in 1820. Part of his estate included that Jacob Hauser be made guardian over Polly Deaver and Matthew Deaver. Jacob Hauser was Susannah's father. Also, he was made guardian over two other children, Mary Deaver and Martha Deaver, orphans of Samuel Deaver. The third Samuel is the one who married Cloha Jarvis in Rowan County in 1821. There is also a William Deaver in Rowan County in the 1810 census. My questions are: Does anyone know who Samuel who married Cloha Jarvis belonged to? Why was Jacob Hauser made guardian over 4 children, but 2 at a time? Who was this William Deaver? Also, in estate papers of Samuel Deaver, it lists Joshua Deaver and Susan Deaver as adminstrators, and also lists Amos Weaver as his brother. So, we know that this Samuel was a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Farmer Deaver, and most likely Joshua was his brother. But who are the other two Samuels? Any thoughts?
