Dorothy- Hope this helps you out. Hugh was my Great, Great Granfather. I remember my Great Grandfather, Jesse, who died in about 1963. Nebraska is full of Hugh's descendants. Bernard Deaver Hugh James Deaver (31.Reuben4, 7.Reuben3, 2.Abraham2, 1.Basil1) born 1852, Deavertown, Morgan County, Ohio, occupation Farmer, married Mary Schmidt. In 1882 his family, along with Reuben Harmen Deaver's family, moved to Jefferson County, Nebraska and farmed near Gilead. Hugh raised horses and mules and was quite successful. He produced a good deal of hay to feed his stock. He also sold insurance policies in the area. He was a well-dressed man with a well-groomed goatee and a fancy horse buggy. Much of the farmwork was performed by his sons. Children: i James Warren Deaver born 1876, Missouri, married Hester McGregor. ii Lawrence Deaver born 1878, Missouri, died 1878, Missouri, He was accidentally suffocated when he was 2 months old when his brother crawled back in his parents' bed and laid on and accidentally suffocated Lawrence. He was used to sleeping with his parents in the bed and was moved to a crib when the new baby was born. iii Jesse Deaver born 1879, Missouri, iv Mildred Deaver born 1881, Missouri, v William H. Deaver born 1883, Nebraska, vi May I. Deaver born 1885, Nebraska, vii Ellen A. Deaver born 1888, Nebraska, viii George C.
