Don't know if you're still looking for this, but I saw your question. A lot of the descendents of Larkin still live on the old family farm, on Buffalo Shoals Road in Lincoln County.

My great-grandfather, Simlar Oscar Deaton, was another son of Larkin Deaton, and moved to Catawba County. Another brother, Baxter Deaton, stayed on and, I believe, farmed the property. There's a private road on the property called "Baxter Deaton Lane."
