I recently posted a message on Deatons of Texas.I went to census records and found my ancestor was James Deaton.I found him and his father Thomas on 1860 Comanche Cty Texas census On same page and same town was Elias Deaton. A Hamilton cty Tx family book says that Elia and Thomas were brothers. Thomas was born 1828 in NC and Elias was born 1833 in Tn
They were froma family of 15 children. I notice that Thomas and Elias are common Deaton namesDoes anyone know about this family. Elias had several sons who went into law enforcement. Thomas had several sons who became outlaws.Go figure. Can someone tell me about their forebears?
