Dear Lawson, It seems as if my Deaton line appeared in Alabama in 1840 and disappeared around 1870. I have written to you before regarding my gggrandfather William Deaton born in NC in 1794, married in TN to a Martha born in 1813. They had 13 children. Of all their many descendents I must be the only one who cares about genealogy.
My mother had a letter from Mrs. Nator of Mississippi in which she stated that she had placed all the Mississippi Deatons except a family that turned out to be my ggrandfather,wife and children. Do you know who has her information? I think that I have found two or three brothers to my ggrandfather. I am at such a loss. I have been working on this for years. I pick up a piece here and a piece there but can never get beyond 1840. Gay Deaton Roden
