Ellen Deaton was my grandmother. She married John W. Dean around 1910. John W. Dean had been married several times and according to the 1910 census James (age 24), Troy (age 16), and Gladys (age 2) were living with them. They had several children of their own, Wellington, Roosevelt, Helen, Johnnie, Mariam, Mabel,Zelma and Dan to mention only a few. Most of the children were put into foster homes after John W. died in 1928. Does anyone know what happen to any of these children? I know very little about Ellen. My mother was one of the children adopted. She was only about 4. I have a little information, but am starved for more. I am also looking for information, like everyone else, on Thomas, father of Capt. William Deaton. Please contact me at vdach@gte.net Thank you
